Ealing builds up 'Goddess'

LONDON -- Ealing Metro Intl. has acquired Australian musical comedy "Goddess" for worldwide sales. "Goddess," that's in publish-production, stars British stage star Laura Michelle Kelly in their initial film role becoming an isolated housewife who becomes a singing sensation on the internet. Her existence turns into a web-based cleaning cleaning soap opera as her new-found worldwide fame clashes while using demands of her family. Irish pop star Ronan Keating also makes his screen debut as her husband. Directed and co-put together by Mark Lamprell, pic is produced by Richard Keddie and Andrena Finlay, with musical direction from Judy Morris, co-director of "Happy Foot." It's backed by Village Roadshow, that's arranging a wide release next summer season in Nz and australia. Kelly won an Olivier award inside the U.K. on her behalf lead performance in Cameron Mackintosh's stage revival of "Mary Poppins." Her only previous screen role reaches Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd."
